“What does it mean to rewalk the paths of the ancient past?”

“What will happen if I awaken the feminine wisdom inside of me?”

“How can I know where to turn, what impulse to follow?”

“Where is my longing to re-member taking me?”

If you have asked yourself any of these questions during your life you are not alone. So many of us are searching to find clues that will help answer our own inner yearning for a stronger sense of place in the present and future; as women. Somewhere deep inside of us we know that in the past the image and presence of the feminine face of God was alive and thriving. And somewhere along the way her knowledge and teachings went underground. We ask ourselves why? Why did the wisdom and presence of the Divine Feminine recede for nearly 3,000 years and why is she reemerging today?

Many credit the decline of the Divine Feminine with the rise of the patriarchy at or around the beginning of the Iron Age (circa 1000 BC). They make the supposition that the rise of men in power begat a rise in war and destruction in humanity’s never ceasing aim to claim more land, more wealth and more command and control. Their argument is sometimes furthered: if only the Goddess had not been stripped of Her power, things would have been different…things would be different now. Our history books and archeological texts are filled with evidence to support the assertion that the rise in the city/state patriarchal society led to the downfall of the Goddess; fact…begetting fact. And yet, can this simple statement of cause and effect be the whole story? Or is this just the simple story, the most likely story…the narrow view?

For me , the idea of the “downfall of the Goddess at the hands of the patriarchy” seems all too simple an explanation; too uncomplicated a cause and effect. But if not this factually-based, historical explanation then what?

History in our culture is linear. We study timelines, timetables and stories that have a beginning, middle and end. We look for answers that we can see, touch and verify into certainty. What if we were to look at history from the perspective of a living circle or spiral, as opposed to the forward and backward motion of a line? What if history was multidimensional; expanding and contracting in several directions at once?

It is from this place, this question that our dreaming begins in PCA. What happens when we open our minds and hearts to consider more than history through the linear lense? What if we see the recoiling of the Goddess through the lenses of esoteric wisdom: the cycles of the seasons, the wheel of creation, the motion of the spiral? What if the Feminine was not pushed underground? What if She chose to make the descent?

What if the Goddess crossed over into another dimension, ebbing on her own accord with the intention to emerge again when the wheel, the circle, the spiral turned? Throughout time, other spiritual forces, people and places have mysteriously vanished from this dimension…and yet a connection has been maintained by those whose hearts could feel and eyes could see beyond “the line”.

It is my belief that she has always been with us, just beyond the veil of time and place. And in fact, in many pocket cultures across the globe she has always been very much alive.

What if the resurgence of women’s circles, women’s iconography and women’s wisdom is the birthing foretold? What if YOU are a part of this Divine Plan? What if WE ARE ALL a part of this Divine Plan? Take a moment to feel into the choice we each have to make where this issue of great importance is concerned.

Right now where you sit, check into the solar plexus in the middle of your midsection. Are you more empowered when you focus on the belief that the patriarchy stamped out the presence of the Divine Feminine against the greater good? Or are you more empowered when you focus on the belief that she crossed into a parallel dimension awaiting for you, for us, to remember her?

Our point of engagement in this unfolding myth is a choice. And this choice matters a great deal. How would your life change….how would it look different if you lived each day with the belief that SHE CROSSED OVER AND YOU ARE A PART OF THE REEMERGENCE OF THE FEMINIINE FACE OF GOD IN OUR WORLD?

Close your eyes where you sit. Connect to the impulse that draws you to this content at this time in your life.

Use your breath to give life to this quickening inside of you. Let the energy in your spine drop deeply into the ground….and the energy in your head rise high into the heavens. Try on this belief: “I AM A PART OF THE REEMERGENCE OF THE FEMININE DIVINE. I AM THE DREAM OF SACRED UNION : MAN AND WOMEN IN BALANCE, LIVING AND LOVING UPON THE EARTH TOGETHER.”

Allow this new thought to permeate your being deeply until it meets its kindred; the place within that has never doubted. Notice what happens within when these two forces meet: “WHAT IF?” and “I AM.”

Tomorrow, look at your life through eyes that know “I am a part of the reemergence of the Feminine Divine.” Notice what is different when you give yourself permission to believe in your own divinity. Remember. Return. Dream the dream of remembrance. Join us as we climb inside our own being. Perform our own archeological excavation, reclaiming and remembering of OURSELVES and HER in the order of all things sacred.
